Studio Fludd works across visual identity, installation, and exhibition design, with a strong focus on color, materials, and content. Their multidisciplinary approach blends art and design through a flexible yet consistent creative process. Guided by tailored art direction, the team combines research, intuition, and playfulness to shape meaningful visual narratives. Their diverse backgrounds allow them to approach each project with openness, attention to detail, and a hands-on sensibility.

Balancing art and design, Studio Fludd explores custom visual languages shaped by context and collaboration. Their method values both conceptual depth and accessibility, and also extends into education through workshops for adults, students, and children.

Founded over 15 years ago in Venice (Italy), Studio Fludd is now based in Turin and led by Chiara Costa (graphic and exhibition designer), Eleonora Diana (project manager and lighting designer), and Sara Maragotto (art director and color consultant).

In recent years, the studio has developed a wide range of projects across cultural, institutional, and commercial contexts, collaborating with organizations such as BASE Milano, CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia, Circolo del Design, the Venaria Reale Conservation Centre, GAM Torino, Gallerie dell’Accademia di Venezia, Triennale Milano, MART Trento e Rovereto, Select, and Somerset House London.

EMBODIED TRANSFORMATION
Crisis, connection and body imagination: crafting of an experience design format

THE COMPLEXITY, THE CRISIS: NEW QUESTIONS / NEW ANSWERS
complexity—an overwhelming abundance of stimuli and information that challenges our ability to process, assimilate, and engage meaningfully. We seek to redefine our artistic identity and challenge rigid, specialized design approaches.

EXPLORING IDENTITY, NAVIGATING COMPLEXITY

At the center of our research is the human body as a system of systems, a dynamic and interconnected structure that shapes perception. By deconstructing male centered perspectives, we explore historical biases, scientific insights, and cultural interpretations of the body as both a playground and battleground.

RE-THINKING EXPERIENCE DESIGN — HOW TO MAKE ROOM FOR OTHERS

Through a fusion of art, medicine, and exhibit design, we will develop an adaptable installation/experience format that engages audiences and expands ways of understanding. Our goal is to innovate expressive languages and methodologies that address contemporary urgencies, fostering an inclusive and participatory approach to experience design.

THEMES / SUBJECTS

DESIGN METHODOLOGY — A new Fludd manifesto: redefining our artistic and design identity / Complexity and information overload / Contemporary design crisis and the need for new responses

NEW INSTALLATION PROJECT — The human body as a system of systems / Historical, scientific, and cultural views of the body / The body as a site of perception, conflict, and play / Skin as metaphor and model
