Resonance

Resonance brings together Finnish and Omani early career women artists with their more established peers and mentors – Elina Brotherus and Maija Blåfield – to develop and produce new works across photography, performance, film, video and installation during a two-week intensive period of production, exchange and sharing. Participating artists will work with scores as external prompts to produce a new work or a 'sketch' for a new work each day. The scores may include Fluxus event scores, other written instructions for performance-oriented art from the 1950s-70s, instructions compiled in ‘List of Art Ideas for 1st Class of CalArts, Post Studio (If They Have No Ideas of Their Own from which to Make a Piece)’, 1970, by the American artist and professor John Baldessari, and other prompts.
