Intersecting Margins: The Way We Approach the Edge

Hakemuksen tiivistelmä

When I first encountered Mynämäki, I experienced a type of 'edge' distinct from the clear, directional edges shaped by rivers. Finland, a land caressed by lakes, how do people converse with the land and water? In urban settings, we dwell in clearly demarcated spaces. Venturing to the 'edge' propels us beyond our usual surroundings, allowing us to uncover life's 'anomalies' and 'irrationalities.' Transitioning from the structured confines of city life to the untouched, rural expanses of Mynämäki offers a unique chance to immerse ourselves in an undisturbed continuum of time and space. At the Saari Residence, I aim to deepen my artistic journey with "The Way We Approach the Edge." This endeavour strives to uncover the nuanced dimensions of human life as it unfolds in varied environments, enhancing our understanding and appreciation for our roles within both the natural landscape and constructed urban settings.
