It explores ways to inherit emancipatory traditions in response to rising fascism and nationalism. Taking post-"Arab Spring" migration to Europe and the US as a starting point, the work resounds a possible diasporic “we” as a potential resonant space for solidarity, inviting voices from various traditions of struggle. Black thought and expression serve as crucial inspiration, particularly in their emphasis on listening and sounding as political modes of being. The project examines how these concepts resonate with the urgencies of the Arabic-speaking context and Global South more broadly. Through listening, poetic investigation and the epistolary form, my writing hopes to function as a tuning device, creating a soundscape of interrelated voices from various epochs longing for a just world. Ultimately, the project seeks to nurture a collective perspective in our current moment. Takaisin apurahalistaukseen
