EMBODIED TRANSFORMATION — Crisis, connection and body imagination: crafting of an experience design format

The project, a response to a sense of crisis stemming from the complexity of contemporary life, explores the intersection of visual arts, research and body imagination, leading to the creation of an experiential design format. Through a collaborative artistic process involving visual research, art direction, graphic arts, exhibit design, and interactive installations, the aim is to redefine the approach to engaging cultural dissemination. Inspired by the pursuits of alchemists in unraveling the universe's mysteries to understand themselves, this exploration represents a contemporary reinterpretation of their quest for knowledge. The project draws upon the fascination with ancient anatomical images and scientific representations as its foundation. It seeks to transform the understanding of the human body, perceiving it as a highly intricate system of interconnected mechanisms and microcosms within a unified organism. The body is seen as both a playground and a battleground. At the core of the research is the broadening of perspectives beyond the male-centric view that has traditionally shaped conceptions of the body. The project investigates how bodies perceive the world, exploring the underlying mechanisms of senses across different historical and cultural contexts while embracing contradictions and uncertainties as pathways for exploration. Through a unique fusion of medicine and art, the project manifests itself in an adaptable and scalable installation/experience format tailored to diverse contexts and audiences. Experimentation drives innovation in language and techniques to evoke curiosity and wonder, fostering a radical interdisciplinary approach. The general goal is to articulate contemporary urgencies and sensitivities, addressing various themes with a cohesive and integrated approach.
