The annual report for 2022 compiles the Foundation’s activity highlights

Sound the drums, the wait is over; our annual report for 2022 is out now!

2022 was Kone Foundation’s 66th year of operation. After the global pandemic eased, we were able to provide our grantees with new encounter opportunities.

Crises did not, however, simmer down. War inched closer to us than in multiple decades. This could be seen in the everyday life of our grantees and our work as we supported researchers and artists fleeing the war in Ukraine. We are still hoping for a solution to the war.

The focus of our current strategy period is the support of free and multifaceted science and art. In 2022, Koneen Säätiö awarded grants, awards and donations totalling more than 48 million euros, which included more than 9,000 working months for our grantees. The Saari Residence’s activities developed towards a more sustainable approach keeping both the past and the future in mind.
