Vitomirka Trebovac

poet

My name is Vitomirka Trebovac, and I am a poet. I would like to use my time at the Saari Residence to continue working on my upcoming poetry collection and to further explore my personal research on “Delaying Time.” I am particularly interested in how to access deep time— how to feel the time that passes, not the time that flies. In my poetry, I explore themes of nature and its influence on time, as well as the experience of time’s passage.
Living in the city amidst its constant hustle and bustle, I find these topics both challenging and inspiring. The poetry collection I am preparing primarily addresses this subject.

I seek to explore how nature can help us slow down time. How can we use nature as a tool—a mechanism through which we can decelerate time and reconnect with its essence? I am focused on a transformation that occurs on a deep, internal level—one that may not be visible on the outside but represents the only true change: a change within ourselves. I believe that this transformation is possible only if we disconnect from daily distractions, communication, and excess information. This detachment also provides us with the strength and motivation to transform the society that surrounds us.
