Read more about the new projects

Kone Foundation funds profound, insightful, and bold projects that cover a wide range of forest-related topics through the Metsän puolella (“For the Woods“) initiative. The goal is to increase the understanding of the many meanings and values of forests and of the intrinsic value of forest nature, and to promote activities which respect the carrying capacity of nature.

Metsän puolella awards grants for forest-related research, art, journalism, and activism. It also commissions forest-themed reports and projects, and has, among other things, supported forest conservation efforts.

In 2026, there will be two open application periods: 1–15 February and 1–15 September. Read more about the Metsän puolella grant call.
