Residency artists and researchers Multidisciplinary art Unikuvia Work group Dreamvisions is a group of Finnish artists formed by Aura Hakuri, Linda Granfors, Eeva Peura, Satu Rautiainen and Pia Salo that produces exhibitions, projects, installations and collaborative works. The group began its journey in 2010, building on a foundation of artistic collaboration and the shared experience of being an artist. All of the group’s members have graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki during 2007–2011. The artists have a background in painting but they also share an interest in an array of art, including performance and graphic art, photography, installations and events. During their dream group meetings, each artist describes a dream they’ve had and the others subsequently imagine and immerse themselves into that dream. The meetings are loosely based on the experiential dream group method developed by Dr. Montague Ullman. Being immersed in a dream is a very visual and inspiring experience. Instead of trying to interpret or explain dreams, the group’s dream meetings are about being collectively immersed in the world of the dreamer. Delving into dream events is a way of encountering an inner humanity. The group is really a kind of knitting club of dreams. Dreamvision’s first exhibition was in the summer of 2011 at the Artcenter Mältinranta in Tampere. The following autumn, Dreamvision had an exhibition at Galleria Gjutars in Vantaa. The next joint exhibition is scheduled for the spring of 2014 and will be held at Taidesalonki in Helsinki. At the Saari Residence, the group’s primary focus is on holding dream meetings and planning their future joint exhibition.
