Jean Michel Roux

Scriptwriter and filmmaker

“The Saari Residence will be the perfect environment and occasion to develop my first movie project in Finland based on the famous Finnish painting: THE WOUNDED ANGEL, 1903, by Hugo Simberg.

This painting is still today a subject of paradoxical interpretations and interrogations. It has the ability to increase the imagination of those who look at it. Before writing the script about the mystery of this visionary painting, I need to do some research and want to interview people about their impressions on this iconic piece of art: other residents, people living in the surrounding areas or in Turku. It can be Finnish people or foreigners. I’m interested in all sorts of point of view. Everybody is welcome to talk about THE WOUNDED ANGEL. The final movie will be mainly based on these spontaneous testimonies.”

Jean Michel Roux started to write and direct movies in 1984. His latest works include three films he directed in Iceland about the invisible supernatural world.
