Adjunct Professor, Doc.Soc.Sci

During my one-month stay, I will be writing several thematically linked academic articles. Two of them are English manuscripts, the first of which I will be finalizing and offering for publication in an international scientific journal. The second manuscript is half-done and is still in need of substantial contemplation and several rewrites. The themes of the articles are associated with the joint effects of gender and class in the division of labour and in time use. I will be examining these themes from a theoretic point-of-view as well as through empirical case studies. The research material concentrates on Finland and Great Britain. The third article is in brainstorming mode for the moment, until strands of thought are slowly processed into an adequate form. A stimulating environment will help with this mental work. My work is directly related to the Voice and Silence of Class -research project (VoxClass for short) funded by Kone Foundation (2012–2014).
