News Grants 29.06.2023 Kone Foundation’s annual grant call will be open 1–15 September Illustration: Marika Maijala Share: Kone Foundation’s mission is to make the world a better place by creating the conditions for free and multi-voiced art and research. The Foundation awards grants for researchers and artists. The annual grant application call will be open from 1 until 15 September, 2023. We support research in humanities, social sciences and environmental sciences, as well as artistic research. We fund artistic work in all fields of art, and multidisciplinary projects between art and research. The funding decisions are guided by the central values defined in Kone Foundation’s strategy: academic and artistic freedom and the intrinsic value of research and art, plurality of voices, boldness, long term, environmental sustainability and crossing national and disciplinary borders. The themes of the programme will be taken into account in the general call of 2023. In June this year, Kone Foundations launched a new initiative for projects focusing on forest issues. Metsän puolella (“In the Woods”) funds projects that include multidisciplinary research, art, journalism and activism in different combinations, or focus in-depth on one discipline. The open call for applications for Metsän puolella is continuous, which means that applications can be submitted for evaluation all year round.
