Kone Foundation’s mission is to make the world a better place by creating the conditions for free and multi-voiced art and research. The Foundation awards grants for researchers and artists. We support research in humanities, social sciences and environmental sciences, as well as artistic research. We fund artistic work in all fields of art, and multidisciplinary projects between art and research. The funding decisions are guided by the central values defined in Kone Foundation’s strategy. The focuses in funding are academic and artistic freedom, plurality of voices, boldness, long term, crossing national and disciplinary borders, and environmental sustainability.
