Taiteellinen työ / siihen pohjautuva työ | Kolmivuotinen

lumbung radio is an inter-local online community radio originating from documenta fifteen. It’s an open online broadcast that comprises of an inter-local network of distinct radios and audio practices. It operates 24 hours a day, in no specific time zones, and streams multiple languages, music, and art. Each participating radio station depends on its own means of production, way of thinking, learning, and sharing. lumbung radio operates as a decentralized network of nodes to produce an audiophonic common space built on the multiplication of the existing practices of its contributors. Since February 2020, Station of Commons investigates the possibilities of reappropriating technology within public space. The point of departure of the research questions both centralized knowledge and data centers operated by major organizations and its underlying social implications. lumbung radio broadcasts using an Open Source digital infrastructure, a radical form of technology independent from private interest to promote a more democratic society. lumbung radio contributors departs from documenta fifteen artists, and extend from this network to new comers and proposals. lumbung radio works on long terms relation with existing radio stations and possibly shorter term projects on a specific sound research. The mode of coordination allows flexibility to the calendar radio program to allocate sufficient time to specific work. The 100 days in Kassel provides material to produce a publication on lumbung radio work. This publication will both gather lumbung radio work and present radio contributors in order to form an archive of radio. Moreover, lumbung radio needs a new website to provide podcasts, and updated information on the contributors.
