Residency artists and researchers Dance Triangel workgroup dance Dance artist Satu Tuittila and choreographers Maija Hoisko, Kai Lehikoinen and Arja Raatikainen produced three solos during the summer of 2008. During their Saari Residence stay, the group immersed themselves in working out the choreography and the repertoire of moves for the performances. The starting points for all the solos were the words ageing, joy, parting, and a middle-aged female dancer whom the choreographers approached from a personal perspective. Triangel, yksintansseja vanhenemisesta, ilosta ja jäähyväisistä (Triangel, solo dance interpretations of ageing, joy and partings) was premiered at Tehdas theatre in Turku on 24 April 2009. The performance consisted of three choreographed pieces: Kai Lehikoinen’s Borrowed Sentences and Imprints, Maija Hoisko’s Singing Lullabies, and Arja Raatikainen’s Puzzle Picture.
