Trans-Horse

The theriophobic city artist without horsemanship Eero Yli-Vakkuri and smith Jesse Sipola plan to create a horse line between Helsinki and Turku.

Trans-Horse, a horse riding route from Helsinki to Turku and back again is the madcap brainchild of urbanite artist Eero Ylivakkuri, who is scared of animals, and blacksmith Jesse Sipola. Eero and Jesse describe it as a project that harks back to the past, but which will prepare us for the future. The project focuses on creating an artistic utopia, depiction and carrying out an experiment. The project will culminate in an exercise which involves riding from one city to another on horseback.

“We are going to ride a horse from Helsinki to Turku – this is the future!”
