Ukraine Solidarity Residencies

The collaborational residency programme by Finnish art organisations for Ukrainian artists has now been operating for almost two months.

At the moment, the Solidarity Residencies are fully booked. There will be spaces available later in the summer and autumn. You can find the application form and more information on the website by HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme: https://www.hiap.fi/ukrainian-aid/.

Recently, the programme was renamed Ukraine Solidarity Residencies instead of Ukraine Emergency Residencies. The change was made to reflect better the aspirations of the collaboration, which aims at promoting solidarity by establishing sustainable support networks and finding the means for Ukrainian artists to continue their practices.

The artists who have arrived in residencies in Finland include visual artist Alina Khorolska, illustrator Oksana Mykhanko, visual artist Anastasia Sviridenko, writer and journalist Tetiana Skorokhod, vocal teacher and jazz singer Mari Zhiginas, and musician Alexander Charkin.

The current partners of the programme are AARK, Connecting Points programme, Fairres, Frame Contemporary Art Finland, Goethe-Institut Finnland, HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme, Pro Artibus, The Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation, The Finnish Illustration Association Kuvittajat and the Saari Residence.
