Apply for funding by 15 February 2026 at 4 p.m. (EET, UTC+2) This year’s first Metsän puolella (“For the Woods”) call is open for applications 1–15 February 2026. The goal of the Metsän puolella initiative is to increase our understanding of the many meanings and values of forests and of the intrinsic value of forest nature, and to promote activities which respect the carrying capacity of nature. In the open call, funding can be applied for various forest-related projects. All the funded projects should have some connection to academic research or art and the aims of the Metsän puolella initiative. The projects can include multidisciplinary research, art, journalism, and activism in various combinations or to delve deeply into a single discipline. We encourage interdisciplinary collaboration in the projects. Please read the Metsän puolella open call and the application instructions carefully before applying.
