Curatorial, artist-led and site-specific practices

Taiteellinen työ / siihen pohjautuva työ | Kolmivuotinen

In 2020 Porin kulttuurisäätö collective was reorganized, and curators Anna Jensen and Eliisa Suvanto were joined with the new members, Andrea Coyotzi Borja and Sanna Ritvanen. Within the next three years the collective continues to move to new sites, areas, and neighborhoods. In 2021 Porin kulttuurisäätö explores the distinction between “artificial” and “natural”, and how nature is presented in the city environment. One of the many aims is to actively collaborate with the city of Helsinki and its different departments. In 2022 the collaboration continues when the fifth Pori Biennale takes place in Kallahti, Vuosaari. The site-specific biennale will open on the nature reservoir, but more so “the biennale” is a method to explore the complexity of the tradition of realizing art projects in suburban neighborhoods. In 2023 Porin kulttuurisäätö will move to Northeast and research the concepts of “holiday” and “work” in Sotkamo. Each project includes a close collaboration and a process-based, collective working between the curators, (emerging) artists and others involved.
