For Aetheric Harmonies, I conducted historical, ancestry and artistic research on Afrodiaspora history, Afrofuturism, Afrojujuist art, Afrodiaspora spiritualities and magic traditions, and queer experiences and theories. I wrote materials, with special emphasis on worldbuilding, storytelling, mythology, and futurism, and created music for the project exhibition/performance. Together with collaborator Isaiah Lopaz, we planned and working on materials together in distance residencies. For Afterlife, I wrote, rehearsed, performed demos, and recorded songs for the EP. For The Kindly Ones, I researched, transcribed, rehearsed and performed the project material, culminating in a performance at BRQ Vantaa in August 2024. And for Nightsongs, I researched, planned, rehearsed and wrote music for the recording and performances. Back to Grants listing
