Application summary

My artistic practice explores art as a process, rooted in the forest as collaborator, where walking, observing, and foraging shape the work. Using weather phenomena as both material and metaphor, I combine seasonal foraging, material experimentation, and sensory observation to create infusions, textiles, papers, pigments, and educational tools. Slow, process-driven methods—such as transforming foraged plants—allow reflection on ecological rhythms, and care about our shared futures. During the residency, I will plan and design parts for larger project I am working at – a Mobile Material Library – that functions as both an archive and artwork, reflecting the seasonal, tactile, and ephemeral qualities of natural materials. Throughout the residency, I will continue my foraging and material research, strengthen my commitment to social practice, maintain and expand existing collaborations, and work on upcoming publications: a weather observation archive, forest walk guide, and Forest Cards. Central to my practice is the forests in the past decade, where engagement with local ecosystems informs both material research and activist collaborations across borders. Developed through the long-term project Small Talks (2016–ongoing), my work emphasizes walking, weathering, and responding to natural materials, tracing social and environmental rhythms and connecting audiences to the temporality, responsiveness, and intimacy of forest ecosystems. By combining artistic experimentation, ecological awareness, and participatory methods, I create spaces where foraging, weather observation, and material transformation become tools for reflection, dialogue, and care.
